Hi. I'm Maria and for as long as I can remember I have loved art, design, and picking stuff up from the beach.
I've always lived by the sea. As a child my mum would take us down every day, whatever the weather. I love how a beach can be sunny & happy, calm & peaceful or wild & bracing, depending on when you visit. I also love how an angry sea can toss treasures onto a shore. I never return home from a visit without an armful of driftwood or a pocket full of sea glass.
I was brought up in Dorset, England - on a stretch of shore which has since been awarded status as the world-famous Jurassic Coastline. Little wonder some of my designs feature ammonites and fossil fish.
My range of beach cards are photographed in Dorset. Several years ago I had a friend who was particularly tricky to buy a card for. So I wrote a message in sand to her, photographed it and put it onto a card. The range has grown since then and are among my best sellers.
I also get my watercolours, and my sewing machine out when I can!
